Put Your Armor On

I knew it was time to break up with fast fashion. But it was easier said than done. It was a challenge to find sustainable fashion alternatives, especially for work clothes so I decided to start a sustainable fashion business to create pieces for myself and women like me who were looking for more choices. That was four years ago. They say that when you start a business it always takes longer and costs more than you originally think. It’s true! But it has also been a  very interesting journey. We are finally almost ready to launch and are so excited to share our pieces. For now, sharing some snapshots along our journey.

Now that you know a little more about the different ways to incorporate sustainability in fashion, you might be wondering, where do I start? As consumers, our own small step is to understand these different sustainable fashion business philosophies so we can decide what’s most important to us so that we can align our purchases with our values and vote with our wallets.  

Today there are many emerging models in sustainable fashion. There is ethical fashion, conscious fashion, circular fashion, and many others. However, these terms seem to be used interchangeably, and it can get confusing. So the next question is, what’s the difference between all these terms? In this post, we talk about sustainable fashion, mindful and conscious fashion, slow fashion, ethical fashion, circular fashion, and inclusive fashion. 

When you are giving your best, making a difference, and giving a lot of yourself, you need to put your armor on to be prepared. We need to be prepared mentally to start the day right. So here’s a list of things you can add to your morning routine to set yourself up for a great day!
