We are so excited to bring you our first collection of pieces for work and weekend, and help you build a sustainable wardrobe you love. Armore pieces are about sustainable fabric, ethical production, and classic designs. We are wroking to bring you investment pieces to treasure for years to come.
One fabric you’ll see a lot of in our collections is linen. While technology has brought us new kinds of sustainable fabric, linen is a classic fabric that has been around for years. In this blog post, we share the different reasons why linen continues to be a fabric loved by designers, artisans, and modern fashion icons like yourself.
1. First of all, It’s gorgeous
Linen has a soft structured drape (is that an oxymoron?). What we mean is, it is structured but at the same time, the way it falls isn’t stiff. It has natural creases that add to its beauty and give it a luxurious look. When you wear a linen garment, you exude effortless elegance.
2. It feels great on the skin
Linen feels great on the skin because it’s soft and breathable. It has moisture wicking properties and temperature regulation properties that keep you cool when the weather is warm, and warm when the weather is cool. What’s more, linen is hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial.
3. It’s versatile
Linen has lately been associated more with resort wear because of its cooling properties, However, linen is great for all kinds of garments including trousers, shirts, dresses, and suits for work for women. And it’s great for men’s shirts too. For weekend, you’ll always look put together in a linen romper, maxi dress or shorts.
4. It’s low maintenance and durable
Linen is the world’s strongest natural fiber so it lasts a long time. What’s more, it gets better with age. It becomes less structured and more soft but retains its overall shape. Another plus is that it’s easy to care for. Linen can be handwashed or washed in the washing machine. No need to dry clean. Also if you line dry it properly it will dry flat beautifully and will require less ironing, if at all. That’s why linen pieces are great for traveling.
5. And of course, it’s sustainable
Linen comes from the flax plant which requires less water, doesn’t require pesticides, and can be processed without the use of chemicals. Because it’s a natural fiber, pure untreated linen is fully biodegradable.
Overall it’s clear that even if linen is more expensive than other fabric, it really is a great choice not just because it’s sustainable, but because it’s a great investment. Invest in pieces in linen and I know these will become your favorites that you will wear both on your good days and your bad days to help you feel even more confident.
